With Journeys with AFAR, we're experimenting with a slightly different way of using Instagram. Not simply as a stream of beautiful images or a showcase for our products, but as a place to tell small stories through photography and words.
Short visual narratives, meant to be explored at your own pace. Stories that can stand on their own or open the door to the longer, more immersive features published in A Bag of Stories.
Our latest three take us to Norway:
into the forests and living memories of Finnskogen, the quiet intimacy of Norwegian hytte life, and the waterways and coastal landscapes of the country's south. Three stories: three different ways of looking at a place. And an invitation to travel with us, even if only for a few minutes.
One Day in Norway
A day spent between woods, water, old boats, work and the quiet of home...
The Wind Sets the Pace
There are journeys in which the destination matters less than the way we get there...
The Forest Remembers
Some places ask you to slow down before they begin to tell you anything...

There's one detail connecting these three stories
Throughout these three journeys, one companion kept appearing: Ogaden, an AFAR bag handmade in Ethiopia. From the forests of Finnskogen to Norway's southern coast, it carried what we needed along the way. The stories, as always, belonged to the places and people we encountered.
